HELP!
Answers:
You can restore the bookmarks because firefox automatically backs up five days worth of bookmarks. So if you lose them, you can import bookmarks from one of these five backed-up files which contain your bookmarks before you lost them.
The bookmarks are backed up in a folder called bookmarkbackups which resides in the profile folder of firefox.
To go the profile folder , click on Start-> Run and type %appdata% and hit OK. This will open the application data folder or the appdata\roaming folder if you're in vista. From here browse to Mozilla-> Firefox-> Profiles -> 'profile folder' which will be named as cwxn84oa.default for instance (could be anything.default) .
Now in this folder you'll find a folder 'bookmarkbackups'. go to this folder, and open the files inside and look which one has the your earlier bookmarks stored.
Copy the file which has your bookmarks and paste it in the profile folder and rename it to bookmarks.html to replace the bookmarks.html in the profile folder which holds your current bookmarks.
Alternatively you can import the bookmarks into firefox from one of the files(from the bookmarkbackups folder) which contains your bookmarks.
1) Open firefox, Click on Bookmarks -> organize bookmarks.
2) In the bookmarks manager window click on File-> import . Choose 'from file' in the dialog box which comes up and hit 'next' and select the file by browsing to the bookmarkbackups folder and click open. Now just follow the onscreen instructions.
If you find it tedious to browse to the bookmarkbackups folder, then before importing, simply copy the file which has your earlier bookmarks from the bookmarkbackups folder to the desktop. Now do the Step 1 and 2 but select the file on your desktop.
This has happened to me before. I'm not really sure how it happens though... If anyone knows, message me after answering this, alright?? Great.
