Question:It remembers most I ask it to, just not hotmail - I must've clicked "don't remember" at some point, but I can't change it now.
Oh, and btw, in Tools --> Options --> Security --> Passwords --> "remember passwords for sites?" is checked and there are no exceptions.
Answers:
Firefox
I have checked the website Hotmail for this information and sadly the help feature of hotmail and Windows Live Mail is very poor. What I can gather though is that Hotmail does not have a forget me feature.
However it is to my understanding that you have used the correct method of checking Firefox to remember passwords via tools and security.
I would clear your cookies and Internet cache by tools and clear all private data.
This will make ALL sites you have used forget the current passwords. You will then need to visit all sites you make use of and type in the pasword(s) again. This will be time consuming however this should resolve the issue.
Personally Hotmail and Windows Live site is not very reliable and recent upgrading issues may still be in effect.
I hope this helps
Cheers
Some sites have code that bypasses the password save feature for security. If the site is not in your exceptions, and the save/no save box opens in other sites that may be the reason.
Some sites, including many banks and a few other sites such as Yahoo Mail and Microsoft Passport, tell browsers not to remember passwords for visitors using autocomplete="off". This bookmarklet makes the browser ignore autocomplete="off" temporarily, allowing you to save passwords even on sites that use autocomplete="off".Go to this site and drag "remember password" to your shortcut bar and see if it works.
