2.0.0.6 for Windows,Mac,Linux
Question:On my site i have videos. Now they play in IE7, but for Firefox, it asks to install missing plug ins. When i go to install the missing plug ins, it says the missing plug ins are unknown. This is the script I'm using:
<object><embed type="video" src="My Source Here" height="350" width="425"></object></embed>
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Answers:
use this instead:
embed type="video/x-ms-wvx"
it should work as long as you have the windows media plugin
for firefox.
Check the format of your video.
FX is asking you to add a plug-in this means that the video format you are using is not supported by the players used by FX.
You can also check the player used by IE7 and see if you can add it to this video format to FX.
My Answer is GET RID OF FIREFOX they suck, stick with the newer verision of Internet Explorer 7 sp2. You will continue having promblems with firefox bullshit.
install quiktime on your pc. i have fire fox and it just did the same.
wat u r doing will work only on windows and that too only on IE.
be precise and specify the MIME of the video u r using
First of all don't listen to anyone who says Firefox sucks, they'll be wanting to switch when their myspace gets taken over by a spyware company, and to you guys, just because you are not smart enough to get Firefox running properly doesn't mean it sucks.
Anyway go to firefox.com, downlaod the newest version of firefox, and it should be telling you that you need Windows Media Player 11, so go to the Microsoft website and get it, the only reason it has trouble with that plugin is because its a Microsoft one.
Sure you can just stick to using Internet Explorer 7, but if you're going to do that you might as well open up limewire, and download every zip file that is 157kb in size, and then have fun with some major virus infections.
