2.0.0.6 for Windows,Mac,Linux
Question:I was wondering if I should install the faster fox add on for my web browser. I just had doubts of it because I heard it made some computers slower! I also use a router and have another computer hooked up wireless's and I didn't want to effect the other computers speed. Another thing, my ISP has a limit to how much bandwidth we can use, so I hope it dont download more things while browsing!
Heres the link for fasterfox: http://fasterfox.mozdev.org/
Heres the link for my limit policy:http://www.wildblue.com/legal/fair.jsp.....
Thanks!

You'd be better if you avoid the faster fox add-on , especially when you've got a bandwidth limit on your connection.
And yes, you've heard it right, fasterfox will eat up your MBs because it accelerates the loading of web pages by 'prefetching'. When you visit a certain page, this add-on will start downloading content from the other links on the page thereby eating away your MBs. So if and when you happen to click on the other links on the page, there'll be almost no lag at all because chances are by then the data from the links would have already been loaded in the cache.
Do not install this add-on. This is not for you , and not for me as well since i also have a quota-based connection where i get limited MBs per month to use and am charged extra if i cross the limit.
Yes, you'll alright with Faster fox. It only speed up your download speed and web page display while using the bandwidth available to you. Install it and go into the Options and choose betwen the normal or turbo mode. Experiment to see which will give you a better speed. Some websites may not work if you put it on turbo mode. You can't never download more than what your ISP give you. Faster Fox only optimizes your connection so that you'll get the most out of it.
EDIT: You don't waste anything since Faster fox only help datas download faster to your PC. It doesn't have anything to do with the MB download limit. On a slow download it will takes longer to download the same amount of data. Faster fox will download the same amount of data in a shorter time. It's not a download manger, it just optimize the FireFox setting to make it faster, and that's all.
Ok so it will speed up your browsing but i do not recommend that you use it unless you change its settings so that it does not prefetch files. By default, fasterfox will download in the background so that by the time you click some links, they will be downloaded already.
