Question:hey guys..
i really have a very cryptic problem.
i have firefox version 2.0.0.1.
due to a power problem, my comp got switched off. now when i've put it on, all of my last years bookmarks have been deleted, that is, they aren't below the back\forward\history buttons in the browser window.
and also, google toolbar, which was already installed, has been installed again!!
is there any way by which i can get them back??
plz help. all of my years work is stored in those pages.

hey dude...i faced this problem a day before...
what worked for me might work for u or might not work for ...try at ur own risk.
i was using mozilla firfox 1.5.2
but it was giving a lot of trouble.....like errors n all
wht i did is that i uninstalled the firefoxx and reinstalled the same version .
and when i used it again.....it hadd all the m=book marks and history intact....
so try at ur own risk...;-)

1. Program recuva from http://www.recuva.com
Look for bookmarks.htm.
2. C;/Documents and settings /user/Local settings/Application Data/Mozilla /FireFox./profiles\ 51c57xc8.default 1002 KB ( mine)
3. Also try C:/Program Files/Mozilla FireFox.\defaults/profile
look for bookmarks.htm.
Suggestion above. Reinstalling FF also an option.

see if u have backups try looking into yr system for the same .. and always what i do generally is i mark all the addresses which i book marked and save it in my mail ... else if u ever used Internet explorer .. then some of the bookmarks shall be there also or other wise try reinstalling the firefox again .. this will be a good way to go ..
ok boss just do one thing step1: go start-all programmes-accessaries-system tool (click on system restore) system restore -next-(select previcies month date in which ur comp runed fine and restore ) that's all u have got all ur stored information ... any more help contact me : shaiksubhans@yahoo.com...
oww, thats a really big problem. Do the following first
C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\...
or search for the keyword "Bookmark" in windows Drive. u will find a folder called BookmarkBackup. open it and restore what u lost. Firefox usually saves a backup of most user settings including bookmarks. otherwise
try system restore, it usually works in most cases.
(whils searching ensure that u use the term Bookmark and not Bookmarks)
install the new version of firefox 2.0.0.4
