Question:I reinstalled it but nothing happens. It does not open at all. It is visible in the processes list of task manager but not in the appliacyion list.

You probably have a corrupt profile, most likely from an extension you installed recently. Kill any running firefox.exe processes and then start Firefox in Safe Mode from the Windows Start menu and see if it works. You can then disable all your extensions and restart in regular mode. Then enable your extensions one by one (restarting between each) and see which one is causing Firefox problems.
If you've been using this profile for a long time through several versions of Firefox, or switching between different versions of Firefox with the same profile, you may want to create a new profile. Go to the Help pages on mozilla.org for assistance with Profile Manager and migrating your bookmarks and settings to your new profile.
