How long do files stay in your cache (in windows xp w/ firefox) before you delete them?

Question:...and once you delete the files can they show up again in your cache? There are porn files in my cache, but I'm not sure if they're a from a long time ago, so if I delete them ALL and they show up again..... is the other person who uses my computer still looking at that stuff (even though they claim they aren't)? Not sure how it works! And I tried checking the dates by right clicking on the file and going to properties---it just gives the current date and time for everything. I'd appreciate some clarification!

All Internet cache is kept in the index.dat file in you profile, just using the Internet Explorer to delete Internet history will not remove them. you will have to use Tracks Eraser, it is a free program.
