Why does internet explorer pop up when i hit send e-mail,in firefox and how do i get it to just open a new tab

Not sure if this will work because I don't use firefox, but you need to let windows know what programme you want to use for which product. to do this (in XP)
control panel > add/remove progs > (on left side of this screen) find set program access adn defaults, click that and choose from list
