Answers:
You had better add more ram.
But If you dont want to upgrade hardware,There are some softwares you can download to speed up your computer.
You can go visit http://fix-slow-computer.info to download some speedup tools, that can help you.
Good luck!

is your RAM adequate? and do you run a adequate spyware p-gram in addition to virus protection? go to lavasoft and d-load adaware if not. (freeware) also RAM is cheap and a easy upgrade...you already know that though i guess....GL with it!

i only have 256 and isp is at&t broadband. everything zips right along. BUT i'm not big on movies. i do know my quicktime player is constantly trying to get me to upgrade, which i havent done. i just use the windows medial player and if it doesnt support a file type, oh well, i dont watch that clip. try upgrading your quicktime, maybe. ive got a bunch of pgrams open and everything seems to work well...zips right along.
Your broadband speed may be the problem. That is the speed you subscribe to from your Internet Service Provider. There are programs to check the speed.

If you are wanting to watch movies you need to be subscribing to a premium service. If you are subscribing to a cheapie, then I am afraid you get what you pay for.
