I'll direct you to an excellent forum post . Check all the settings listed . Here's the post : http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic....
If this doesn't help, then try clearing the cookies and cache. In Firefox click on Tools > Clear private data. Here tick cookies and cache and click 'clear private data now'.
Also you could check and isolate a problematic theme/extension
However, if you're still stuck with your problem and are experiencing the the problem only on friendster, you could get the IE tab extension for firefox.(That is if you can see the pictures on IE)Once you install that extension , simply put the friendster URL in that extension so that it'll be one of the sites that'll open within firefox but will use the IE's engine.Or put a particular friendster pictures URL. I'll walk you through it.
Click here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox... for the IE tab extension
Once you're on the page, click 'install now (windows)' ...follow steps to install. At the end it'll prompt you to restart firefox.
Now click Tools >Add-ons > Extensions > click on IE tab extension > click options . Now in the URL, enter http://pictureurl.com and click 'add'. now click 'ok' to close to box. From now on, always pictureurl.com will open with IE's engine . What this extension basically does is, it lets you change the rendering engine for a webpage. If you don't want to enter any URL there, then you can also click the mozilla firefox icon in the bottom right of the window to switch to the IE rendering engine for the page you're viewing after installing this extension. (Replace pictureurl with the actual Friendster URL causing the problem or put in the entire friendster URL in there)
Alternatively, you might want to try and uninstall Firefox 'competely' and reinstall it back again.
Here's how you uninstall Mozilla Firefox completely:
1)Uninstall firefox from the add/remove control panel (Start-> Run and type 'appwiz.cpl' (without quotes) or 'control appwiz.cpl' if you're in win9x and hit OK. Select mozilla firefox from the list and hit remove.
2)Now delete the Mozilla Firefox folder from 'program files' (Assuming firefox is installed in C:\program files, Go to that path and delete the entire Mozilla firefox folder.
3)Now remove the firefox folder from : start-> run-> type in %appdata% and hit OK (this will open the application data folder)->Mozilla. Delete the Firefox folder in the Mozilla directory. If you use only the Firefox 'product' of Mozilla, then its ok to delete the Mozilla folder itself.
Now reinstall Firefox, and your problem will be gone.
