I have unistalled and reinstalled. I am using the right login and password. Everything else is working on yahoo. I have tried to login through yahoo and the yahoo messager? I have tried internet exp. 6.0 and 7.0 and aol, and firefox for connection and just my broadband. I have tried changing my set up and going through dial up. I have exhalsted every option that I know any more Ideas. The smiley face wakes up when I go to login and then falls back asleep? and it goes back to my passord and login?

Yahoo Messenger 8 was creating a lot of problems for me, so I uninstalled it and switched back to 7 and since then I have not faced any problem.
So I recommend you to uninstall your YM 8 and switch back to 7 this will automatically fix all your problems especially the common problems of YM 8 like :
-Problems in signing in
-Problems in alerts and sounds
-Problems with contact list
-Problems with contact details
-Problems getting into chat rooms.
-Problems with file transfering
-Text messages recieved and sent becomes invisible.
-Frequent automatic sign outs etc
HAVE NO IDEA. SORRY I CAN'T HELP YOU. I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WHEN I DID CAPITOL LETTERS INSTEAD OF LOWER CASE.
Log out of everything, and shut down all internet windows, go to control panel, uninstall/remove programs, choose messenger, uninstall it. redownload and reinstall it. This is messing everything up. If you don not have messenger install, uninstall and reinstall internet explorer or whichever program you use.
Have you cliked on any funny links lately you recieved through an IM. If so you may have been harvested. If that happened run a virus scan. Your username and password have been highjacked and they may have left you an extra gift for being so helpful. You won't get your stuff back either.

Either you just suck and people dispise you, and you are stupid enough to tell them your password, and they changed it, or your computer is malfunctioning.
