i asked this question yester day http://firefoxanswer.com/question/index;_ylt=AvbXHc0FLbt83ohXQTvX0P3sy6IX?qid=20060825203354AAICyBQ
and everyone told me its jus spyware so i got an anit-spyware/adware....
but i know somethings still not right with my computer the pop ups have stopped. but it still runs mad slow. i can get to the task manager now but everytime i open it something called program1 is always running (i never opened that)
in addition to the advise i got yesterday i downloaded an anti- virus it told me i had almost a thousand viruses and i healed them (at least thas wat the program said)
most of them were some trojan junk
i guess my question is do i have a virus even if the program said i healed them or is it just really bad spyware?
Answers:
open control panel go to internet options check your home page type in www.yahoo.com then try it ( if this works you were overwritten by a virus even when it's removed the overwrite stays ) you can set explorer to its base settings if you like MSN ( sucks) or type in your choice
Goto www.ewido.net and run the free version. If its the, ewido will find it
Save yourself from the stress and reformat.
i think that something is wrong with the computer itself and its not a virus anymore. i think you should get it checked by some computer expert or something, i think the problem comes from the hard drive
u should get a good company like macnfee anti
I used Spyware Doctor on my Computer and it got rid of everything even the viruses and my computers speed up a little. Keep in mind your computer will get slower the more it's used.
awww mate try this site and get some real help these are totally free
Dude! You are still infected. Make sure you have updated the definition files for your anti-virus tool and run it a few times. Next, download several spyware/adware types of tools and run them. Not all spyware tools will catch everything that's why you would need several to catch as much of them as you can.
You're in real truble. Always update your antivirus. You can also try to search for the executable. If you find it, delete it without a second thought.
