Should I switch to Firefox? (From IE)

My friend said that Firefox is better, but my other friend said that it doesn't work with Vista. =/

So should I switch to Firefox? Also, would I have to uninstall IE, or could I keep it and just not use it?

Btw.. my computer's a Windows Vista, if that has anything to do with how well Firefox would work.

If I did switch to Firefox, would all the stuff I downloaded (like flash, those kinds of downloads) still work, or would I have to get them again?

Please explain your answer... I don't want yes or no answers. >.<

Answers:    Using it right now with XP though, but still love it over others I have.
Go for it.

FF works with vista just fine. i use it all the time.

Flash will still work. no probs. but you'll have to re-install the toolbars

also, IE will still work. i'm on it right now because its the only way to override parental controls on my computer (its a paticular popup)
Firefox works perfect on Vista. I would suggest switching since it is less targeted by hackers and somehow more secure. Don't forget to set Firefox as your default web browser.

I don't think you can uninstall IE, even if you do, you'll probably have lots of problems.

All the plugins you have for IE would have to be downloaded for Firefox too, but pretty much is going to happen automatically in the background.

I switched to Firefox about a year ago and I'm really happy I did it. It has features (e.g. "Find" box on top of status bar, better searching, downloaded file list, etc) IE lacks.
