Opera is arguably faster, but I used Safari once it was released on Windows for a bit and it seemed the fastest of them all
The new version of Safari, when it is released, should beat IE, Moz, FF, and Opera.
Not on Windows. However, Safari is faster on Macs.

I have tried them all, and my personal opinion is that Firefox offers the best combination of speed, functionality, security and plug-in tools.
