Can anybody help me with win media player for firefox?

Question:ok i have firefox 2, and i have win media player 11. When i go to youtube i CAN play videos which is great. I can play videos on other sites too but they are quicktime videos. When i go to a site with a video on it that runs on media player, it wont play and a thing pops up and says FIREFOX HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE. I can play videos on my win media player, but i cant play videos on the win media player in the actual websites. Is there a plugin that i can download or something?
