It will end up dying as it gets bought up by Google or MSN.
Does it really have any advantages?
Is it Faster than anything else?

I personally started using Firefox just because it was the talk of the town & I have found it very nice. Its tab feature is good (although a bit overrated), but, putting that aside, it deals with the security problems very efficiently . When I was using IE as my web browser, I was so annoyed by frequent security threats & certain pop ups opening as new windows inspite of my Y! toolbars, but Firefox has made life so easier, it blocks every kind of annoying pop ups.
Nowadays whenever I try to use IE for a change, I am so annoyed by the pop ups & maximizing & minimizing browsers.
So I guess I am going to stick with Firefox no matter what.
But at the same time I think that this kind of tough competition will force microsoft to improve the security features of IE & in near future, you will be seeing a new & improved Internet Explorer which will force Firefox to die.....
The tabbed views are awesome. It has some security advantages over IE as well.
There are lots of people who are simply anti-microsoft and will use any reasonable alternative that is available.
Firefox isn't any faster, but there are some features that are much better. It has the google search in the top corner, the tabbing feature is suberb.
The only bad part of Firefox, is that some web programs don't "recognize" it. A while back when writing emails in yahoo with firefox as my browser i couldn't change the fonts on my letters and colours and such. Now, either yahoo or mozilla, has changed their programs to allow this.
Overall I appreciate Firefox better.
Well, I was using IE before and I started having a problem with plug-ins crashing IE like crazy. As soon as I would close a PDF file or a Word file that had been opened in IE, all of my IE browser windows would become unresponsive. I had all the latest service packs, and had uninstalled and reinstalled IE, and nobody could tell me how to fix the issue.
So I posted a technical question about how to fix this. Someone's answer was "get Firefox". I did that and haven't had any crashes since.
Before FireFox the only "sloppy code" reader was IE. By this I mean small mistakes in your HTML was aborted by Netscape, Opera ect causing the whole page to look crappy. With FireFox, it ignores many of the small errors and still delivers a nice page. Lastly, its open source and alot of people have a say in what is given to the public as an Alpha program. So small security issues ect get fixed with9out the corporate stalling in IE.
