Question:This past year in school we had a typing teacher that told us if we ran our MS Word with Mozilla Firefox at the same time the computer would eventually crash. I've ran Word with IE and nothing has ever happened, but I'm not sure about Firefox. I think she might have been using it as an excuse for us to not get on the internet during class, but I could be wrong. Just wondering.
Answers:
Maybe her pc had problems with compatibility. Who knows, maybe she never did any updates. I work in a computer lab where we have 130+ all running office xp and 2007 plus firefox and zero problems.
Well, it depends on the PC you are using. If you have a low RAM, it might actually happen, because I know that at least Firefox uses a lot of memory. Depending on the MS Word you use, it might have pretty high memory requirements as well.
But in general it should not happen... I do have a pretty slow PC and use MS Office 2007 all the time with Firefox running. It makes it slower, but it does not crash.
Do this all the time bounce inbetween word and firefox to give answers here (checks spelling and grammer).
I never experienced any problem like it.
I deal with computers on a daily basis. I fix and repair computers as a hobby business. I have never heard that mentioned by anyone except here in the FireFoxAnswer.com and question section.
I run Microsoft office, Fire Fox, Sea Monkey ( A Netscape) and IE Explorer without any problems.
The main reason for your pc crashing is you are running Windows - one of the most badly designed operating systems in existence.
Get Linux and you will not have anymore problems.
Normally, Firefox and Word should work in their own memory space.
I've never seen that kind of crash with windows, even if windows is the worst OS I've ever used.
It was surely the worst excuse I've ever read too !
