I have high speed cable internet. What internet download manager should I get? Should I even get one? Which one works the best? I'm not the kind to "schedule" downloads so forget about that. Is there one that downloads as it should, but knows when you're clicking on a song selection on an online music store? I always must disable past download managers when I wanted to purchase music, is there a work-around for this? I use both IE7 and Firefox. Thanks.
Internet Download Manager is a good download manager. Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a closed source software download manager only available for the Microsoft Windows operating system. It can be downloaded for a free 30-day trial, or be purchased for a one-off payment for continual use. The latest version of IDM is 5.04.
IDM allows users to automatically download certain file types, divides downloads into multiple streams for faster downloading and lists recent downloads for easy access to files.
IDM contains no ads or spyware, and works with Internet Explorer, Opera, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, and Mozilla Firefox.
As for when you want to download what, if you want to avoid IDM to download a link you can press Alt + THE LINK which is a default control.
DAP (http://speedbit.com) is one of the most popular but you will have bare with ads.
A free and fast one is from http://freedownloadmanager.org does not contain ads. and is free and is is quiet configurable.
To disable simply right click on its system tray icon, & un-check browser integration.
