I received antivirus scan results which dont understand, can anyone help??

My computer has recently been infected with spyware and virus which has completely blocked my access to the internet. It removed address bar from IE, removed security center, and does not allow access to internet. I ran a couple of different antivirus/antispyware programs including Ad-Aware SE and Avira AntiVirus which have removed some(if not most) spyware and malware. Also have installed Mozilla Firefox browser to try to access internet using a different browser. Still, connection to internet is blocked. Most recently Avast Antivirus scan yielded results which did not understand. Can anyone help me with this? Scan result: Name of file- D:\PRELOAD\BASE_23.INP\242975R... Result- UNABLE TO SCAN:CAB ARCHIVE IS CORRUPTED.

Answers:
Well, what do we have here a victim of internet.
Dont worry youhave reached the correct place.

The error that you told, it look like your OS CAB files have been corrupted what that means is that ypur computer is never gonna be the same.

Waht you need to do is to completely format ans re-install your OS .
The reason why I say this is -
beacuse your spyware tools hace removed the connection settings for the internet
and it is not completely removed
so you need to do a re-installation.

Too much porn..
how is it hard to understand?? one of your files for your antivirus is corrupted or the file that it is trying to scan is so corrupted that it can't scan it.
The cab files cannot be scanned because it's compressed. Not a big deal.

Close or disable your firewall program, then try to connect again.
i had a very similar situation. i'd disconnect from the internet, start backing up your files to cd or flashdrive, and reformat the computer. my windows firewall was deleted and a system file check wouldn't correct the problem. and when there is a situation like this, it probably better to start fresh. reformat
it just means that the file is corrupted and cannot be read, if your os is i=om c drive, then you are ok, you can just delete the file manually, it is part of a program, probably the windows setup. and d: might be a network drive where the setup for xp is stored. Use AVG antivirus, it is free, and turn off system restore, and boot into safe mode to run those programs again. there are protected files that cannot be checked when system restore is on, and windows is in normal mode. after cleaning, you might have to set IE bacl to default settings, no teliing what you might have gotten changed in there
